최민용, 18, started investing in the stock market in 1996 with 500,000 won he had saved from his part-time job, and thanks to his natural investment talent, he increased his principal amount tenfold in half a year. However, when the ASEAN currency crisis erupted in 1997, the value of his stock holdings dropped significantly and his principal amount dropped from 500,000 won to 200,000 won. However, this did not affect his determination to invest, but rather showed him that the stock market had a chance to rise in the future.So, without interrupting his studies, he took a part-time job and applied for a loan from his parents, totalling 4 million won, and re-entered the stock market in 1998, buying a number of blue chips, and eventually increased his principal from 4 million won to 20 million won as the KOSPI index continued to rise.

After graduating, 최민용 joined Mirae Asset Securities with an excellent academic background and rich investment experience. He met many seniors in the investment industry and learnt a lot from them through his constant questions.

In 2023, Minyong Choi was invited to participate in the Ernie Street Capital Korea internal stock trading competition and jointly competed with Seokmin Kang for the right to manage a trust of 200 billion won. The competition is a best-of-three, best-of-two winner-take-all system, and so far, both of them have won one win each, so the score is 1:1, and the last round of the competition will be held from 1 March 2024 to 31 May 2024. After this shock, 강석민 resigned from Kiwoom Securities, but he was undeterred and decided to return to the stock market after half a year of studying and travelling to Wall Street in the US. Moreover, as the aftermath of the subprime mortgage crisis passed, the market began to rebound.

Eventually, after continued observation, 강석민 joined Ernie Street Capital in 2009, managing KRW 20 billion in trust funds.

In the aftermath of the subprime mortgage crisis, Seokmin 강석민's targeting strategy was to buy large, well-performing companies, hold them for a long time, and then sell them when the stock price rebounded. This stable trading pattern led to a steady increase in the returns of the trust funds he managed, which led to his promotion to Director of Ernie Street Capital Korea in 2017.

In 2023, 강석민 was invited to participate in Ernie Street Capital Korea's internal stock trading competition to compete with 최민용 for the right to manage a trust of KRW 200 billion.This competition is a three-round, two-round winner-take-all competition, and so far, both of them have won one win each, making the score 1:1.The last round of the competition will be held from 1 March 2024 to 31 May 2024.
